Troyer out of touch with District 6
It’s time for a councilor who listens and backs up those who live in District 6. Let’s bring quality stores and homes back to East Tulsa and honesty back to our city councilors office elect Kevin L. Boggs.
Dennis Troyer is taking credit for the Eastgate office complex. The fact is, the former District 6 councilor and his secretary were the ones who researched and found the info on the former owner, Witchard, known as the “king of dead malls.” Again, it was the former councilor who had the city Inspectors put pressure on Witchard to fix the mall or to sell it to someone else who would.
Troyer is attempting to take credit for the widening of 31st Street.
According to a City of Tulsa Public Works document dated Dec. 21, 2005, former Councilor Mautino checked on getting this project started (since it was approved to be done with the 2001 Third Penny Sales Tax extension). This project was scheduled to start in Dec ‘06 and was to be finished by Dec 2008.
Troyer took credit for some jobs in District 6. Yet Target left our area!
The fact is the one company he claims to have brought in was actually on the edge of District 6, already at another location and merely moved to this new location where Troyer helped turn residential into industrial zoning.. In addition, because of this, there is now an industrial building built behind two residential homes.
Troyer says he is listening to others. However, Bob Johnson, a Democrat and president of the Tower Heights Neighborhood Association had this to say about his fellow Democrat:
“It is my personal opinion that Troyer is not concerned with the majority of our neighborhood wants or needs. Troyer seems to think that he knows what is best for East Tulsa no matter what East Tulsa is telling him. Troyer appears to have his own personal agenda and that does not necessarily agree with the people in District 6.”
Bruce Denny, founder and spokesman of the Lynn Lane Neighborhoods Association had this to say about Troyer’s responsiveness: “Troyer failed to listen to the voices of East Tulsans and despite TMAPC’S Recommendation for a much lower density on a re-zoning issue. Troyer supported the much higher density and failed to listen to or acknowledge the large number of residents opposed to the high density zoning change. As for road improvements in District 6, Troyer needs to drive on Admiral or 11th Street Between 145th and 193rd East Avenue.”
Troyer is out of touch and now out of Time. It’s time for a change.
Vote April 1 – Boggs is best for Tulsa and District 6.
