Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck coming

Sarah Palin, GOP vice presidential candidate in 2008 and former governor of Alaska, will join radio-TV talk show host Glenn Beck in a special visit to Tulsa March 13.

Palin and Beck will appear as part of the “Taking Our Country Back Tour,” which will make Tulsa its first stop on a nationwide tour. Country singers John Rich and Gretchen Wilson will perform as part of the event at the Tulsa Convention Center.

Political strategist Dick Morris, whose column is published exclusively in the Tulsa Beacon, was originally scheduled to speak but was unable to attend and was replaced by Palin.

Radio station KFAQ 1170AM in Tulsa is a sponsor of the event. Beck’s three-hour weekday radio program is on from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday on KFAQ (following The Pat Campbell Show each weekday from 6-9 a.m.).

Beck also hosts a one-hour show on the Fox New Network from 4-5 p.m. every weekday.

Palin served as governor of Alaska from 2006 to 2009, when she resigned. She was the youngest person ever elected governor of Alaska and the only woman.

She is a political commentator on the Fox News Channel.

Palin was the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate who ran with Sen. John McCain. That ticket lost to President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

Palin’s 2009 autobiography, Going Rogue: An American Life, is a best-seller.

Although she has not announced a race for president in 2012, Palin is considered the front-runner by many conservative Republicans.

Beck has written five books that have made it to the top of the New York Times’ best seller list.

As of last week, tickets were still available for the event. For more information visit www.1170kfaq.com/takingourcountryback.html.
