Energy Policy Conference Sept. 14-16

The 2008 International Energy Policy Conference will be Sept. 14-16 in Washington, D.C.

The Energy Advocates, an Oklahoma-based group that advocates domestic energy production, is with the State Chamber of Oklahoma and the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism to present the conference.

In 1973, the Arab Oil Embargo was an attempt to hold the United States hostage. Although the embargo lasted only five months, the average price of oil spiked nearly 77 percent. In response to this tyrannical act, Oklahoma oilmen founded the Energy Advocates in order to promote energy security and to correct misinformation about the energy industry.

Today, the Energy Advocates are building upon the strong foundation of energy education about the oil and gas sector and have begun to promote all forms of energy.
