Air and Space Museum offers camp
Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium will offer a series of summer aerospace camps for children.
“Not only is TASM’s summer camp fun and exciting for the children, it also plants a seed that grows into an interest in science that lasts a lifetime,” said Kandi Kurt, Education Director. “The children’s reaction to watching the rocket or plane they’ve built soar through the sky is priceless.”
One mother’s comment regarding summer camps was “…he (her son) has been more excited about his TASM aerospace camp experience than any other camp he has attended. He bubbled over when he told me about the TASM flight simulators and about designing spacecraft and rockets”.
First through ninth graders will be introduced to airplanes, rockets and robots. The eleven camps being offered this year will be taught by staff members as well as certified school teachers.
This year’s camps include: aerospace i & ii, aeronautics, robotics, astronomy and advanced rocketry. The cost is $198 per week for non-members and $175 per week for members. Camp hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., with extended care offered for an additional fee.
