Ground Zero mosque sends the wrong message to USA

by Randy Bright

We are all aware by now of the actions of Muslims to build a mosque overlooking the ground zero site of the Twin Towers in New York City. I think all of us, perhaps even some American Muslims, find this to be an insulting, repugnant and insensitive act, but none of us should be surprised by the arrogance shown by Muslim zealots that is part and parcel of the Islamic belief system.

Several years ago, I wrote a series of articles about Islam. One of the key points that I asserted then, and still believe now, about Islam is that it is not a religion at all, but is a socio-political system disguised as a religion. Anyone who has made a serious study of the life of Mohammed and Islam can understand how this is true. Unfortunately, it is still being treated as a religion, and as such we afford it the same rights as any other religion in terms of our constitutional rights.

I’ve also written much about the importance of property rights to the validity of our Constitution, and even I would admit that when Muslims adhere to our Constitution and our laws, they should be able to own property and build mosques, regardless of how much we dislike it.

Having said all of that, Muslims are not hiding the fact that they want to take over America, and indeed, there are some places in America where there are concentrated populations of Muslims who have already begun the effort to have Sharia law permitted among themselves.

They have already succeeded in doing so in parts of Europe, especially in England, and I believe I have seen news accounts that it may already be the case in some parts of Canada.

Given that there are a number of cities that have become “sanctuary cities” for illegal aliens (one in Maryland that has even written it into their ordinances that city employees are required to ignore immigration laws and are required to refuse to work with immigration authorities), it is not a far stretch to see that a similar thing could happen in cities whose majorities are Muslim. It is also quite notable that the federal government under the current administration is ignoring our federal laws regulating illegal aliens, is ignoring the illegal actions of sanctuary cities, and is prosecuting cities like Phoenix who are only trying to protect themselves by enforcing federal laws that already exist.

There are also reports that the imam in charge of getting this huge mosque built in New York City is also working for our State Department on a tour of Muslim nations to build better relations. Equally disturbing is the recent orders that NASA begin asserting the contributions that Muslims have made to science and math.

(Contributions which are questionable, by the way. Many of these contributions were likely made by Jews who were under the dominion of Muslims at the time.)

I also have written recently about Obama’s faith-based initiative program, but what I haven’t written about yet is the fact that a large part of that program is to help Islam to be accepted and integrated with other faith-based groups, including Christianity.

We also need to keep in mind that none of us should hate Muslims, because not all of them are part of the Islamic movement that supports Sharia law or the violence that goes along with it. Indeed, there are reports that many Muslims in Muslim countries are becoming Christians. But we should also remember that it is a widely accepted opinion that even though only about ten percent of Muslims are “radical,” given that there are about 1.5 billion Muslims in the world, that still represents 150 million who are dangerous people. As someone I know well (who has lived a number of years in several different Muslim countries) said, the Muslims they knew were the dearest, sweetest people you could know, but the rest of them would kill you if they had the chance.

We can also add to this that those adherents to Islam who are not violent are also not well educated about their own religion. Many of those who have studied the Koran or who have come in contact with an imam who is familiar with the teachings therein, have become radical.

It is not fair to compare this with how many of those in the Ku Klux Klan claimed to be Christians. It is just the opposite because the Bible does not teach that we should be violent against those that oppose us, but the Koran does.

So while it is a serious problem that it appears that New York is going to allow the mosque to be built overlooking the site where nearly 3,000 Americans and foreigners were brutally murdered, the real problem is that Islam is not being universally rejected in America because Americans still know so little about it. As long as it is accepted as a religion, and we have a willing administration who promotes it, Muslims will continue to use our Constitution against us.
