Netanyahu invitation hopefully signals better foreign relationships

There was an interesting "news" story in the February 8 issue of the daily newspaper in Tulsa that immediately caught my eye even though it was relegated back to page 14 of the first section.  The headline read "Democrats angry over Netanyahu's speech" while the sub-headline was "They fear the Israeli PM's visit will aid the GOP."

I grew up in a world that, devoid of most media outlets, was largely self-contained. TV was in its infancy, and the newspaper was something we took mostly for the local news. International news came from the radio or what was then called then a "newsreel." Shown before a movie began, each newsreel consisted of a short documentary containing recent news and events. 

Atheist group want to get rid of college team chaplains

Alliance Defending Freedom sent letters to six public universities  - including The University of Oklahoma - after they received complaints from Freedom From Religion (atheist) Foundation wrongly stating that having basketball team chaplains is unconstitutional.
