With health protocols in place, the American Athletic Conference is planning on a full 12-game football schedule this fall.

Tulsa is a member of the AAC.

“We’ve decided it would be premature to make any kind of decision at this point on such an important matter,” AAC commission Mike Aresco said.  “We’re continuing to gather information and there is more information coming out.”

The 11 football teams in the American can schedule eight league games and can play up to four nonconference games.

Eight University of Tulsa football student-athletes have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and have been placed in isolation until medically cleared to resume normal activities. The impacted students are asymptomatic and none has required hospitalization.
