Smart meter bill draws debate

Ronda Vuillemont-Smith of the Tulsa 9.12 Project is fighting for customer's right to opt out of PSO's plan to replace analogue meters with smart meters. She also wants full disclosure of benefits and possible hazards as well as informed consent.  

Abortion Dismemberment bill

A measure that would ban "dismemberment" abortions was approved today by the Oklahoma House of Representatives. House Bill 1721, by state Rep. Pam Peterson, seeks to ban dismemberment abortions.

It is interesting that Obama denies that ISIS is related to Islam. I wish someone would tell him, "Mr. President, the first letter is the name is Islam. You see, they call themselves Islamic. That doesn't seem that is very hard to determine."

Summit basketball tournament action

It's March and that means college basketball tournament time. This week I'll be traveling with the ORU Pep Band to the Summit League Tournament, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

OU hosts Kansas in key Big 12 game

Iowa State came alive in the second half and erased a 22-point deficit  to upend No. 15 Oklahoma 77-70 in Ames Monday night.  The loss put OU in a tie for second place with the Cyclones and dashed hopes for a regular seasaon title for the Sooners, who host Kansas Saturday.

TU leads AAC

Tulsa scored a 74-72 overtime win over Memphis Saturday to take over first place in the American Athletic Conference with two games to go.

Tech beats OSU

Oklahoma State took a step away from an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament with a 63-62 loss to Texas Tech at Lubbock last Saturday.

ORU is third

ORU finished in third place in the Summit League with a 60-57 win over Denver last Saturday night at the Mabee Center.
