Racial discord is rising and one of the big factors is the new media narrative that America is a racist country and that white people by definition are racist.

That is especially true on media outlets like MSNBC, CNN, the Washington Post, the New York Times and others.

Recently, on an MSNBC show called The ReidOut, black activist Brittany Packnett Cunningham said that a proposed law in the Missouri Senate, SB8666, would make murder legal.

Host Joy Reid said that Mark and Patricia McCloskey, who stood on their porch armed with guns after Black Lives Matter protestors broke the gate to their neighborhood and stood on the McCloskey’s front yard, said that under the new law, the McCloskeys could have legally shot every protestor.

Cunningham said, “”So when folks talk about ‘making America great again,’ that’s the kind of Missouri grand ol’ tradition that they want to return to. They want to return to days when you could lynch or murder Black folks and there would be absolutely no retribution for it. That’s not hyperbole. I’m telling you as a Black Missourian and as a protestor, that is reality.”

Reid agreed and called the bill “legalizing lynching.”

This is not a reality. Cunningham’s comment on “making America great again” is a dig against former President Donald Trump and anybody who supports him or his leadership.

This bill is about self-defense. Reid and Cunningham can’t make a logical argument that people can’t defend themselves so they pivot to the race card and state that this is a bill against minorities. If violent protestors invade your property, you have every right to defend yourself.

But the left and the news media couch every discussion in racial terms. And that just makes everything worse.
